Getting There

Today I spent 4 hours weaving, just for a change, and one hour blending colours for the red escarpment shape.   My plan is to  try to weave 1/2 of this shape and across the tapestry tomorrow.  I have decided to set a deadline of Friday 18th to finish.  I am looking forward to exploring around Kyneton and give the dining room, which is my studio at the moment, a break.  The pictures below represent the progress of 42 1/2 hours.  Amazingly, I still like the design.  I haven't worked out if my sticking to the task is dedication, stupidity, bloody-mindedness or not wanting to be beaten.

I wish I knew how to put pictures side by side.  The bottom of the 2nd picture is a bit dark and I am glad I wove one of Albert Namajira's ghost gums given what has happened to them.

Well done Glennnis. Take care tomorrow, with all that heat forecast. Here's hoping you can meet your deadline.
It was sad to hear about those ghost gums. I remember that painting being all around the place when we were young, especially on playing cards (I was a swap card collector too).

Hi Mary
Thank you for your encouragement. I am up early today and plan to do 4 1/2 hours before lunch and before it gets too hot. Do you have any of your swap cards still?

Your hatching and blending skills are amazing - I'm in awe!

You are too kind MIchelle. Sometimes I wish I could just do blocks of plain weaving then I'd be finished.

Hi Glennis .... your work is terrific. You should be very pleased with it, no matter how long it takes. There was a quote on facebook today which said " Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated" I think it applies to all tapestry weavers. Pat

Hi Anon
Thanks for your encouragement. I am nearly finished and have reached the top; not completely but in one place.
I have to download the photos and blog about it, soon.
