Alice

I have finished a new part of the tapestry and I have called it Alice after our tour around Alice Springs.  At the end of the 2 hour tour Albert Namajira' grave was pointed out almost as an afterthought.  I thought how sad it was that this eminent Aboriginal painter was  reduced to an afterthought by the tour guide. He painted many ghost gums and this is my take on the one on his grave.

The second one looks lighter  because you can see more of the orange  zebra rock section and I think I have photoshopped the first one.

Lovely Glennis, I really like the black shading, in both areas. And the orange and red part in the second picture. How much more to do?

Thanks Mary.
How much more to do? About as much as I have already done. I very much value the positive reinforcement by you and Michelle.

I like the way the darker blobs in the orange soften the contrast with the red across the creek - and also like the black splatter in the red. Lovely.

Thank you Misha; I value your positive comments too. Mary also commented on the shading/splatter; it is actually green not black. My mentor suggested it and also recommended a book on colour that they use at the workshop the name of which I have forgotten. I will have to ask.
