The latest assignment to keep me from weaving the large tapestry due in 6 or 7 weeks is called
Interaction between people. We had to do 4 drawings and select one to do small tapestry sample. The drawing I chose to do a tapestry of is one of my beautiful cousin Marj who died last year after a long battle with breast cancer. When I was doing photography at RMIT we had to do portraits and I took a lot of photos of her. She had just found out she had to have a course of chemo tablets and the photos reflected her concern. The drawing I did reflects my reaction to this news. We had been best friends since we were 8/9 and were constant companions and playmates for 60 years.

Such a moving work. Your drawing is great. I am not sure I would be able to work on such a personal and sad piece.
I hope the next month and a half, or so, is not too interrupted and you get the tapestry woven without too much stress.
Great job Glennis, and a beautiful homage to your friend ...
Thanks Mary. I wasn't upset doing the tapestry, however at times I was sad remembering the fun we had. I enjoyed doing her hair.
Thanks Michelle; friendships don't always last that long. We used to laugh a lot.
That must have been a very draining thing to do, Glennis.
My closest childhood friend was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's - I just try no to think about it and certainly wouldn't have had the courage to weave it. But then I'm a bloke...
Really well done.
Thanks Misha.
I am sad to hear about your friend; I sometimes think that Alzheimers in someone you love would be incredibly difficult to bear - it is like a slow living death. I shed a few tears doing the piece but I am pleased I did it.
